DOUBLE DIPPIN'--I'm not talking about the latest deal at Dairy Queen, but a subject that is NEVER TALKED ABOUT.
Remember growing up and watching 2,3,or 4 TV channels if you were lucky? (Actually, more, after we started getting ripped off with Pub-Lick Broadcasting.)
We really didn't have many choices, but what the heck, it was free. We watched the percolator percolate with Maxwell House Coffee--UM-UM-GOOD. And then we went out and bought MAXWELL HOUSE COFFEE because it was the BEST-NO DOUBT! Boy, that was the day, wasn't it!
Let's scroll ahead to the 21st century--NOW! We pay $30 to $whatever a month for cable TV or satellite TV, right? AND WE STILL HAVE TO WATCH THE DAMNED COMMERCIALS! Do you consider this DOUBLE-DIPPIN'? Yes, methinks you do.
These guys have it figured out to the max. Maximum profits, that is!
Why in the name of fairness do we HAVE to pay a dime for cable or satellite service. The companies involved make billions off of the advertisers. Advertisers should be just thrilled with the fact that there are millions of suckers out there willing to buy their products that THEY paid for with THEIR money for advertising. But NO!--these cable/satellite bottom feeders know that us suckers will pay, and pay, and pay for commercial TV. Just how stupid can we be?
Let us visit another cashcow. If you think the aft-before-mentioned is worth it's salt, well then think about this, because I sure have: CREDIT CARD COMPANIES. If, by chance, you own a credit card or 10 or 20, think about this: Every dime charged is paid for by the cardholder, PLUS INTEREST. And you pay throught the eye teeth for the PRIVILEGE of using THEIR card.-- Unless you are a business owner, then you know not the rest of the story. CREDIT CARD COMPANIES charge a vendor fee ranging from 2 to 8 % to the "vendor" who accepts the card for payment of services. Again, DOUBLE-DIPPIN'. I guess I rest my case here for the present. Except to ask the question? Who
allowed all of this insane gouging to happen? I'll give you three guesses. No? How about one?
LOBBYISTS--They make the world go round, don't cha know?
